Before the metro, buses were the only public transport: Busways and CDC NSW services still connect Bella Vista to Parramatta (routes 660, 662, 663, 664, 665), Castle Hill (730, 662), Blacktown (730), Seven Hills (714, 715) and the CBD (607X, 613X, 614X), many along the North-West T-way. The suburb sits at the end of the M2 Hills Motorway (opened 1997), close to the Westlink M7 and Cumberland Highway, with Old Windsor Road running along its western edge.

Bella Vista Public School — NSW government K-6 primary school at 83 Free Settlers Drive within the suburb, opened in January 2019 in a new low-rise campus serving the suburb's growing young families (NSW Department of Education; NSW School Infrastructure). Norwest Private Hospital on Norbrik Drive is a major health employer. The M2/M7 motorways and M1 metro make the Sydney CBD, Macquarie Park and Parramatta commutable for residents.
