Blair Athol, NSW 2560

Small family suburb of 2,725 residents (2021 census) about 57 km south-west of the Sydney CBD in the City of Campbelltown LGA's part of the Macarthur region, bounded on its south-western side by the M31 Hume Motorway and sitting just north-west of the Campbelltown town centre. The area was settled by British farmers in the early 19th century, and in 1879 Scot John Kidd built the original Blair Athol homestead — named after the village of Blair Atholl in Scotland — on his orchard property; the land was sold to an engineering company in 1945 and rezoned industrial, but stayed mostly vacant until Campbelltown Council rezoned it residential in 1992 and today's suburb was born. It is a multicultural, built-out residential suburb — at the 2021 census 50.3% of residents were born in Australia with the Philippines (9.1%) and India (5.7%) the largest overseas birthplaces, 46.7% spoke only English at home, and Arabic, Tagalog, Hindi and Lao were the main other languages — of family homes on the fringe of the Campbelltown urban area.
