Bligh Park is a quiet, low-density family suburb of about 6,220 people (2021 census) roughly 58 km north-west of the Sydney CBD in the City of Hawkesbury, just south of Windsor and South Windsor. It is a modern master-planned suburb: national builder AVJennings developed it from 1988, naming it after Governor William Bligh — its streets are named after ships and people of the First Fleet. Demographics skew young and family-oriented: median age 32, 86.0% of residents born in Australia (91.3% speak only English at home), and the most common household type is couples with children. A car is the most practical way to get around day to day, with Windsor Road and the Hawkesbury Valley Way/M7 corridor the main road links toward Windsor, Blacktown and Sydney.

For secondary years, Bede Polding College — a Catholic co-educational Years 7–12 college — is in the immediately adjacent suburb of South Windsor.

Bligh Park's only retail is a small local shopping centre serving the estate — described by Wikipedia as including a grocery store, takeaway, butcher, chemist, bakery, pizza shop, doctor's surgery and a real estate office. There is no major supermarket or nightlife in the suburb itself; residents do most day-to-day shopping and errands in the immediately adjacent South Windsor (supermarkets, services and the Bligh Park Hotel pub at 101 Ham Street, a few minutes' drive from the estate) and in Windsor's town centre a little further on.
