Cherrybrook is a suburb of northern Sydney, 29 km north-west of the Sydney CBD, in the local government area of Hornsby Shire and often described as part of the Hills District. At the 2021 census it had 19,082 residents with a median age of 43 — an older, family-oriented profile with 18.4% of residents aged 0–14 and 18.8% aged 65+. The suburb was subdivided from 1959 onwards with streets named after native plants, trees, convict-era historical figures and colonial architects, giving it a leafy, master-planned, estate-style character.

Cherrybrook Technology High School is currently the largest government secondary school in the state with more than 2000 students and growing each year, although it was originally built to accommodate just 900 students.
