Leafy, quiet, family-oriented suburb about 16 km north-west of the Sydney CBD in the City of Ryde, one of the 'Denistone' suburbs carved from the old Denistone estate — named after Thomas Forster's home 'Dennistone', burnt down in 1855, with the estate not opened for subdivision until 1913. Denistone is predominantly residential and has no commercial hub: the railway station, opened in 1937, is considered the centre of the suburb. At the 2021 census it had 3,726 residents with a high median weekly household income of $2,683.
