Earlwood, NSW 2206

Established, hilly, family suburb of inner-south-western Sydney about 10 km south-west of the Sydney CBD, lying on the escarpment between the Cooks River to the north-east and Wolli Creek to the south, with the historic riverside locality of Undercliffe included within its boundary. Earlwood grew from an 1820s logging camp - Parkestown, later Forest Hill - into a closely settled residential suburb once electric trams arrived early in the 20th century, and was renamed Earlwood in 1918.
