Established, leafy family suburb of 4,429 people (2021 census) about 56 km south-west of the Sydney CBD, in the City of Campbelltown LGA and Macarthur region, on Campbelltown's western fringe. Glen Alpine began life in 1986 as a golf-course estate, with houses built mainly inside the looping design of the 18-hole Campbelltown Golf Course, and expanded toward Macarthur Square from the late 1990s; it remains deliberately low density — blocks run from 800 to 1,900 m² and most homes are under 30 years old, with 98.3% of privately occupied dwellings detached houses at the 2021 census. The demographic is settled and family-oriented: 70.1% of residents were born in Australia, 41.1% of homes are owned outright and 49.8% being bought, and former federal opposition leader Mark Latham was among its notable residents.
