Family suburb of south-western Sydney about 35 km from the Sydney CBD, in the City of Liverpool local government area; a comparatively new suburb, formed in 1986 from the then-southern part of Green Valley and northern part of Hoxton Park, and named after Hinchinbrook Creek, which runs through it. At the 2021 census it had 11,521 residents, 47.7% of them born in Australia — a strongly multicultural community that is home to a Seventh Day Adventist church and clubs including the Uruguayan Social Sporting Club. It is a quiet residential suburb of modern, mostly brick family homes on sizeable blocks, bordered by Green Valley to the north and Hoxton Park to the south.

Hinchinbrook has no railway station — transport is bus-based, with Transit Systems NSW services including routes 804, 853 and 854 plus the T80 Liverpool–Parramatta Transitway service stopping in the suburb at 'Hinchinbrook, Liverpool-Parramatta Twy'. The 853 and 854 routes run along Hoxton Park Road and Cowpasture Road connecting the area to Liverpool. There is no direct rail link, so train travel to the wider network is via bus to Liverpool station.
