Jamisontown, NSW 2750

Riverside suburb on the eastern bank of the Nepean River, immediately south of Penrith's CBD and about 56 km west of the Sydney CBD, in the City of Penrith LGA and the Greater Western Sydney region. The area formed part of a 1,000-acre 1805 grant to Thomas Jamison, NSW surgeon-general, and stayed rural for roughly 150 years before subdivision began in the 1960s; Jamisontown was gazetted as a neighbourhood in 1976. At the 2021 census it had 5,321 residents, 75.5% of them born in Australia. Today it blends established family homes on older subdivisions with newer low-rise apartment stock on its riverside edge, and the Coles/Kmart-anchored Nepean Village is the local hub; the new apartments at Preston Street are marketed as moments from the Nepean River, BlueBet Stadium and the Penrith CBD (Raine & Horne, 2026).

Mulgoa Road is the suburb's main road, connecting with both Penrith and the M4 Western Motorway, which in turn links to greater Sydney and the Blue Mountains.

Jamison High School — the local government high school — is located across the suburb boundary in neighbouring South Penrith.

Nepean Village Shopping Centre (corner of Station and Woodriff Streets) is Jamisontown's retail hub — local business directories give the centre's address as Jamisontown, NSW 2750 — with Coles and Kmart anchors plus 45+ specialty stores, cafes, fresh food and family-focused events; it was recently revitalised (Pullman Sydney Penrith; local business listings; ATG).
