Old Guildford, NSW 2161

Old Guildford is the original Guildford settlement — the hamlet that grew around Lieutenant Samuel North's 640-acre 1837 grant on Woodville Road, which became known as 'Old Guildford' after the railway station opened about 1.5 km north in 1876 and the new town around it took the Guildford name. A small, quiet, low-rise suburb of 2,857 people at the 2021 census (SAL13088), it has kept an 'old village' character of modest cottages, churches and larger floodplain blocks, distinct from the denser post-war streets of neighbouring Guildford.
