Oxley Park, NSW 2760

One of the older residential suburbs around St Marys, 43 km west of the Sydney CBD in Penrith City. Its history goes back to an 1808 land grant to explorer John Oxley, gazetted as a locality in 1823, and the suburb grew as a post-war residential area — Oxley Park Public School opened in 1957 and mid-1960s homes on large blocks are common. It remains a quiet, purely residential suburb with no town centre or industrial areas of its own, its shopping limited to a small strip on Sydney Street, and a multicultural community reflected in St Marys Uniting Church's English, Cook Islander and Samoan congregations. With 4,197 residents at the 2021 census, it mixes older houses on big blocks with newer townhouse complexes.

Public transport is bus-based — Oxley Park has no railway station of its own: its northern boundary is the Main Western railway line, which separates it from North St Marys. Oxley Park's shopping is a small strip of convenience stores and small businesses zoned along Sydney Street — including a bakery, specialty clothing store, medical practice, salon, pharmacy and a woodfire pizza parlour — serving as the suburb's main commercial hub. For larger retail, the adjacent suburb of St Marys offers St Marys Village Shopping Centre (Woolworths- and Target-anchored with more than 40 specialty stores) plus the historic Queen Street precinct.

Ropes Creek, a Hawkesbury–Nepean catchment watercourse, forms Oxley Park's eastern boundary.
