Plumpton has no railway station; public transport is bus-based. Busways routes — including 750, 754, 756 and 761 — connect Plumpton with Mount Druitt, Bidwill and Blacktown, with a major stop at Plumpton Marketplace on Jersey Road. The Westlink M7 motorway forms the suburb's eastern boundary and the M4 lies just to the north, giving fast road access across Sydney. The closest rail access is Mount Druitt station on the T1 Western Line, with Rooty Hill station also nearby to the south.
