Revesby, NSW 2212

Family-oriented south-western Sydney suburb about 22 km south-west of the CBD in the City of Canterbury-Bankstown, developed as part of Sydney's post-war urban sprawl with many modest freestanding bungalows built from fibro. At the 2021 census it had 15,268 residents and it is genuinely multicultural: Arabic was spoken at home by 11.6% of residents, Vietnamese 6.9%, Mandarin 5.4%, Cantonese 4.0% and Greek 3.0%, reflecting strong Lebanese, Vietnamese, Chinese and Greek communities. Property-watchers describe a solid, family-oriented market built around the train line and shopping strip, where 1950s–60s brick veneers sit beside newer townhouse developments and knockdown rebuilds (StMate).

Revesby railway station, opened in December 1931 and heritage-listed, is on the East Hills line and is served by Sydney Trains' T8 Airport & South Line — confirmed: station pages list T8 services to the City Circle via the Airport and, in peaks, express services via Sydenham and Redfern, with Revesby acting as a turnback for terminating city services and through services toward Macarthur and Campbelltown. Revesby is a notable interchange with express stopping patterns. Revesby's shopping village sits right beside the station, centred on Marco Avenue and Selems Parade, with banks, specialty retailers, restaurants and cafés; it includes one of the largest Woolworths supermarkets in Sydney, built on Marco Avenue in the early 2000s opposite the existing complex, and the combined residential-and-retail 'Revesby Abbey' development completed in 2003, which lined the street with cafes, restaurants and boutiques. Revesby Workers' Club — opened 1962 and now with more than 50,000 members, one of the largest licensed clubs in NSW — dominates the suburb's social life; its 2023 upgrades included a multi-level commuter car park, and a second supermarket precinct opened nearby. Local government facilities include a senior citizens centre, and a monthly Arts and Crafts Fair runs at Abel Reserve.

Revesby does not itself reach the Georges River — the riverfront suburbs of Revesby Heights and Picnic Point lie immediately to the south, with Revesby Heights on the river's northern bank — but the suburb has plenty of local open space: Abel Reserve (host of the monthly Arts and Crafts Fair), Marco Reserve and Amour Park (home grounds of Revesby Workers FC, St Christopher's and Revesby Rovers soccer clubs) and the Revesby Skate Park. River parklands and walking tracks are a short drive or bike ride away in adjacent Revesby Heights and Picnic Point.
