Rossmore, NSW 2557

Quiet rural suburb of greater western Sydney about 41–47 km from the CBD — a 16.3 km² expanse of acreage and farmland south of the Western Sydney Aerotropolis corridor. At the 2021 census it had 2,241 residents across 707 private dwellings, 97.5% of them detached houses. Rossmore began as the old town of Cabramatta — renamed to avoid confusion with the new Cabramatta railway station in 1856 — and takes its name from the Rossmoor horse stud, a nod to Rossmore Lodge in Ireland. Its centrepiece is the heritage-listed Church of the Holy Innocents (1848). The suburb is on the fringe of the South West Priority Growth Area and is projected by NSW DPHI to grow to roughly 14,000 residents by 2041 as Aerotropolis employment builds out (suburbcheck).

Rossmore has no railway station — the South West Rail Link's train stabling facility opened in the suburb in 2015, but the passenger terminus is at neighbouring Leppington, about 3.9 km away. Public transport is bus-only: Transit Systems routes 855 and 856 run through Rossmore between Bringelly and Liverpool. Bringelly Road is the main road through the centre of the suburb, connecting west to Bringelly and east to Liverpool and the Westlink M7 tollway.

Rossmore Public School — NSW government K–6 comprehensive primary school in the suburb (school website; suburbcheck lists it in-suburb, ICSEA 937). Bellfield College — Islamic independent co-educational school (K–12) at 29–31 Rossmore Avenue West, Rossmore, an in-suburb school with ICSEA 984 (Combined Independent Schools; bellfield.nsw.edu.au; suburbcheck). Rossmore's small village hub sits on Bringelly Road: the Rossmore General Store (832 Bringelly Road) and the Rossmore Local Post Office occupy the same small complex, serving takeaways and convenience needs (australia247; yelp).
