Warawaralong is a very small, sparsely settled bush locality strung along Bells Line of Road in the Blue Mountains, about 95 km north-west of the Sydney CBD and 45 km east of Lithgow, at roughly 640 m elevation in the City of Hawkesbury. The Geographical Names Board records it as a 'locality on Bell Range about 2.5 km SW of Bilpin', sitting on Bells Line between Bilpin and Berambing (GNB via Hawkesbury People & Places). It is an old name on a long-settled road — the 1882 Parish of Bilpin map shows the locality covering 100-acre land grants (portions 1–8 and 17) and the 1901 NSW census lists a household there — but today it is remote acreage and bush blocks rather than a village; Wikipedia's article is a stub with no published census population. The name itself goes back well before 2019 — it appears in a 1942 Hawkesbury Herald report — and while its locality name and suburb boundary are recorded by the Geographical Names Board, no source was found confirming the 'gazetted 2019 from Bilpin' claim. Warawaralong's southern boundary is the Blue Mountains National Park, and it is bracketed by the apple-growing district around Bilpin to the east and the orchards of Berambing to the west.

Transport
Warawaralong has no railway station — the nearest railhead is Richmond, the T1 line terminus roughly 35–40 km east down Bells Line of Road. Public transport is an extremely thin, once-or-twice-daily bus presence: Busways route 682 (Richmond–Kurrajong via Berambing loop) runs out along Bells Line of Road — the road Warawaralong straddles — and terminates at Berambing, but service is recorded at only about five buses a week on the Berambing end, and no Warawaralong-specific stops are published; in practice the locality is entirely car-dependent (Transit app; Busways).
Schools
No school operates within Warawaralong, and none of its other immediately adjacent localities — Berambing to the west or Mount Irvine to the north — has a school either. Primary-age children from the district travel about 4–5 km east along Bells Line of Road to Bilpin Public School, the small NSW government K–6 school in the adjacent suburb of Bilpin that serves the mountain district; secondary students continue down the mountain to Richmond/Windsor or the Blue Mountains.
