Transport
West Ryde railway station sits on the Main North line and is served by Sydney Trains T9 Northern Line services toward the city via Strathfield and toward Hornsby/Epping. A bus interchange adjacent to the station is served by routes 500N, 500X, 501, 523, 524 and 543. The Parramatta River ferry is close by but outside the suburb: Meadowbank ferry wharf, on the northern side of the Parramatta River serving neighbouring Meadowbank, is about a 20-minute walk from West Ryde (or one T9 stop via Meadowbank station) and is on the F3 Parramatta River ferry route.

West Ryde Public School — NSW government primary school in the suburb (the school, known as Meadowbank until 1930, anchors West Ryde's school-aged catchment). Marsden High School — NSW government co-educational secondary school in West Ryde, opened in 1959 (originally named Ermington High School before being renamed that year) and now serving years 7–12 with an Intensive English Centre.
